At Northstar, we specialize in Search and Rescue operations that include both land and water-based missions. Our team utilizes certified K9s, advanced sonar technology and aerial drone systems to assist Law Enforcement, Emergency Response Teams and Families in critical times.
Tracking/ Trailing/ Area K9s
Our K9s are trained to locate missing people by using a their sense of smell. These K9s can track in a variety of environments- including (but not limited to) forests, fields and urban areas.
Land and Water
Human Remain Detection (HRD) K9s
Our K9s specialize in locating the scent of Human Remains; whether searching in wooded area, fields or across lakes and rivers.
K9 Boat
Our K9 Boat is specially designed to allow our K9s to work efficiently on the water. This gives them the freedom they need to move around the boat, to locate individuals in the water. The handler and boat operator use the K9s reactions to navigate to the areas of interest.
Sonar
The Sonar on the dog boat consists of Hummingbird Solix 10 & Solix 12 monitors that allow for operation of down image, side image, and Mega 360 at the same time to assist in verifying K9 indication. A trolling motor allows slower movement and spot-lock to stay stationary for the most accurate images.
Tow Fish - Sonar Boat
Little Toot is used for locating individuals in the water. The boat is equipped with sophisticated sonar, including the towfish capable of down/side live sonar allowing high quality images down to the bottom of lakes and river.
Drones
Drones provide a fast and efficient aerial view of large areas. Our drones are equipped with thermal camera, allowing them to detect human heat signatures even in challenging conditions such as darkness, smoke, fog, and dense environments.
K9 ROVer
Underwater Drone with the capability to dive 100 meter underwater providing real-time, high-resolution picture and video back to the surface. K9 ROVer is equipped with a robotic arm and claw that allows the operator to bring targets to the surface.
